3 Ton Goodman 15.2 SEER2 R32 Central Wall Mount System GLXS4BA3610, AWST36LU13 Apartment/Condo Type
This is the largest system in Goodman’s AWST wall mount series. It pairs the 36,000 BTU/h GLXS4BA3610 condenser with the AWST36LU13 large-chassis air handler at 15.2 SEER2 (AHRI #214859636). It’s the only system in this group with a scroll compressor, and at 67 dBA the GLXS4BA3610 has the lowest sound rating in the GLXS4B series. That matters for condos where the outdoor unit sits on a balcony or close to a neighbor’s window. It suits larger condos, penthouse units and townhomes that need 3 tons of in-wall cooling, with factory heat options up to 10 kW.
Is a 3 Ton Air Conditioning System the Right Size?
Three tons (36,000 BTU/h) typically serves larger condos, multi-level townhomes and penthouse units, often around 1,500-1,800 sq. ft. as a rough guide. Since 3 tons is the top of the AWST wall mount line, it’s worth confirming the load carefully. Oversizing here can mean short cycles and humidity problems in a compact living space.
Top-floor and corner units, floor-to-ceiling glass, open layouts and high occupancy all increase cooling needs. Shared walls and shaded exposures reduce them. The AWST36LU13 also needs a front-return wall closet sized for the 24″ large chassis.
Ideal for: Larger condos, penthouse units, multi-level townhomes and multifamily units that need the maximum capacity available in a wall-mount air handler.

The GLXS4BA3610 condenser measures 29″ x 29″ x 39-1/2″ and weighs 158 lbs, with a 69 oz. factory R-32 charge and 7/8″ suction and 3/8″ liquid connections. The AWST36LU13 delivers roughly 1,114-1,360 CFM at 0.1″ static across its five speed taps, the highest airflow in the AWST line. It shares the ratings of the ducted 3 ton GLXS4 15.2 SEER2 system but installs in a wall closet.
