5 Ton Goodman 14 SEER2 R32 A/C System GLXS4BA6010, AMST60DU1300
The flagship capacity of the GLXS4B R-32 series pairs the 60,000 BTU/h GLXS4BA6010 condenser with the D-cabinet AMST60DU1300 air handler (AHRI #214860141, 14 SEER2). This is the maximum-capacity single-phase package in the lineup. It’s built for owners of very large homes, and for single-phase light commercial spaces like small offices, studios and retail suites that need serious cooling from one split system. Unlike the smaller GLXS4B units, it’s the only one with an ECM condenser fan motor. The air handler adds a 1 HP ECM blower and supports heat kits up to 25 kW.
Is a 5 Ton Air Conditioning System the Right Size?
At 60,000 BTU/h, 5 tons is the upper limit for most single-phase residential split systems. It’s typically considered for large homes, often around 2,500-3,000 sq. ft. or more as a rough reference, or for light commercial spaces with high internal loads. Because it’s the largest size, oversizing mistakes are costly: bigger ducts, higher electrical service and humidity problems if the load isn’t really there.
Confirm the load with a Manual J (residential) or a commercial load calculation. Check that the duct system can carry 5 ton airflow, and verify the electrical panel has room for a 50A condenser circuit plus the air handler and any heat kit. Very large homes are sometimes better served by two smaller zoned systems, and our team can help you compare.

The GLXS4BA6010 is the tallest condenser in the series at 35-1/2″ x 35-1/2″ x 39-1/2″ and 224 lbs, with a 1/3 HP ECM fan motor and a 94 oz. factory charge. Set it on a pad sized for its footprint. Hurricane-zone installs should use proper tie-downs from our condenser pads, wall mounts and tie-downs selection. The AMST60DU1300 steps up to the 24.5″ D cabinet (58″ tall, 24-5/8″ deep) with an 11″ x 10″ blower wheel. Replacing just the outdoor unit? The 5 ton GLXS4BA6010 condenser is sold separately.
