Hurricane Strength Equipment Pads designed to Florida’s tough standards!
Overview
Designed specifically for the hurricane proneregions of Florida and the Gulf Coast, the CladLite? Hurricane pad meetsstringent local code requirements for wind resistance. Heavier than a normalconcrete pad, this pad provides sufficient weight to meet code. These pads havebeen designed specifically to meet the intent of the Florida Building Code,Chapter 16, with respect to wind resistance. Method of attachment tested perASCE 7. CladLite? Hurricane pads are suitable for all 130 mph and most 150 mphinstallations. For certain taller equipment, the CladLite? Hurricane T pad isneeded. CladLite? Hurricane pads have been declared by the Florida BuildingCommission to be an acceptable alternative material to solid concrete slabs foruse in specific applications from Tallahassee to Miami. Approval of the pad iswithin the discretion of the local building inspector. DCA02- DEC-183.

MEET THE NEWCODE
DiversiTech’s CladLite? Hurricane and CladLite? HurricaneT-Class equipment pads meet the 4″ height requirement of the Florida BuildingCode, Mechanical Volume, effective March 2003. Section 304.7 Clearance fromgrade. Equipment and appliances installed at grade level shall be supported on alevel concrete slab or other approved material extending above adjoining grade aminimum of 4 inches (102mm). Suspended equipment and appliances shall beinstalled a minimum of 6 inches (152 mm) above adjoining grade. CladLite?Hurricane and CladLite? Hurricane T-Class equipment pads have been designedspecifically to meet the intent of the Florida Building Code, Chapter 16, withrespect to wind resistance. Method of attachment tested per ASCE 7.DiversiTech’s CladLite? pads have been declared by the Florida BuildingCommission to be an acceptable alternative material to solid concrete slabs foruse in specific applications from Tallahassee to Miami.
